The Golden Hour
An Outdoor Listening Event
You are invited to gather with us.
Join us at Phalen Park Amphitheater on Sunday, July 20th, as we share an experience of outdoor listening, designed to soothe and connect.
The Golden Hour events are intended to create a shared space for group deep listening, inviting participants to slow down, and tune in to the exchange between natural and creative sound. Join us for a shared sonic experience, seated outdoors in an open, green environment.
We aim to build deeper relationships with nature, and to connect to a broad and diverse community.
By centering this experience outdoors in a public park, the event brings sound-makers into direct dialogue with the park patrons, allowing for a natural exchange of ideas, and creating space for connection and growth. Through these projects and similar public-facing initiatives, it is our goal to use sound to actively foster a deeper understanding of ourselves, each other, and the planet we share.
Located on Saint Paul's scenic Eastside, Phalen Regional Park contains massive green space, covering nearly 500 acres. The park is a popular community destination, featuring waterfront access to Phalen Creek and Lake Phalen, with amenities including sculptures, trails, picnic shelters, BBQ grills, and public restrooms.
This event is FREE and open to the public, but we’ll be collecting donations to help cover costs and compensate the artists.

Golden Feelings
Golden Feelings is the project of Ypsilanti, Michigan artist Dustin Krcatovich, working with techniques of synthesis and improvisation to develop immersive, psychedelic sound experiences. The music is designed to facilitate mental and emotional clarity, like a warm, luminescent void.
The artist creates with frequencies tuned to modes of natural chakra-alignment, using slow moving electronic sound-shapes to open hidden doors to enlightenment.

Visible Light
Visible Light is the duo of Amy McNally and Matthew Hiram, blending cello and wooden flutes with analog synthesizer, electronic processing, and sounds from the living world.
Created through a process of deep listening, collaborative composition, and structured improvisation, Visible Light’s music traces a path through the seasons, drawing inspiration from weather cycles, pollination patterns, and the hidden language of trees.
The duo will perform two pieces from their upcoming debut album ‘Songs for Eventide’, to be released later this year by Permaculture Media.
