What is Permaculture Media?
We're an independent record label releasing ecologically minded music. We believe listening can deepen our connection to the natural world.

What does "ecological record label" mean?
We donate a portion of projects to environmental foundations and work to reduce our environmental impact across our process, including renewable energy, sustainable touring, and eco-friendly distribution.

What kind of music do you release?
Our primary focus is on ambient, experimental, and field recording-based work inspired by the natural world. If your music connects to nature, ecology, or environmental themes, we're probably interested.

Do you have a newsletter or mailing list?

Do your artists tour or play live shows?
We focus on intentional listening experiences rather than traditional concerts and tours. Since 2024, we've curated The Golden Hour, a series of annual outdoor listening events around the Twin Cities. Get in touch for info on upcoming events and opportunities.

Do you use actual nature sounds?
Yes. Many releases include original field recordings from forests, wetlands, and other natural ecosystems, captured respectfully without disturbing wildlife.

Do you only work with certain types of artists?
Right now we're focused on our inner circle while building our catalog. We're interested in connecting with artists who share our environmental values, and who are creating music in collaboration with nature.

Are you accepting demos?
Sort of. Permaculture Media is active in the independent music community, and the label is open to collaboration proposals within our focus. We’re specifically interested in new, unreleased work from artists creating nature based music.
