Frequently Asked Questions

What is Permaculture Media?
We're an independent record label releasing nature-inspired music with minimal environmental impact. Currently working with a close circle of artists while building toward a broader roster. We believe music can deepen our connection to the natural world.

What does "ecological record label" mean?
We reduce environmental impact across our entire process, meaning renewable energy, recycled packaging, sustainable touring, and eco-friendly distribution. We also donate a portion of profits to environmental projects.

What kind of music do you release?
Ambient, experimental, and field recording-based work inspired by the natural world. If your music connects to nature, ecology, or environmental themes, we're probably interested.

Can I use your music in my film / project?
We welcome sync licensing opportunities. Email fragileplanetmusic@gmail.com with your project details and we'll share our available catalog.

Do you have a newsletter or mailing list?
Yes. We send occasional updates on new releases and label projects. Subscribe here.

Do you tour or play live shows?
We focus on intentional listening experiences rather than traditional tours. Since 2024, we've curated The Golden Hour—annual outdoor listening events around the Twin Cities. Email fragileplanetmusic@gmail.com for upcoming events and booking opportunities.

Do you use actual nature sounds?
Many releases include field recordings from forests, wetlands, and other ecosystems, captured respectfully without disturbing wildlife.

Are you accepting demos?
Yes, from artists whose work connects to environmental themes. We’re specifically interested in new, unreleased work from artists focused on nature based music. Send a streaming link to fragileplanetmusic@gmail.com with a note about your vision, and your approach to environmental conservation.

Do you only work with certain types of artists?
Right now we're focused on our inner circle while building our catalog. We're interested in connecting with artists who share our environmental values, and who are creating music in collaboration with nature.
